The cutting head swivels through the robot kinematics and a cutting angle change is possible without X\/Y movement. Equipped with continuous height sensing of the workpieces, the cutting head provides permanent protection of the focusing tube and thus of the entire cutting head against vertical and horizontal collision. The cutting gap is around 1 mm at entry and around 0.2 to 0.7 mm at exit, depending on the speed. This error is automatically compensated by the new STM TAC cutting head to +\/- 0.05 mm. Perfect 90\u00b0 cuts, 100% round holes and nested parts can be cut easily and quickly. The STM TAC 12\u00b0 does not make a rotation, but performs a swiveling movement.
